Usually about a week before her period a woman will retain water. The weight loss is likely because you lost this water and aren’t bloated anymore. I usually gain abour 7-10 pounds when I get my period. Drink lots of water. Don’t worry it is normal to be like that.

maybe you have a very dense and thick uterine wall and also if you have had alot of diahrea lately, that could have caused the weight loss.

It is not uncommon for young women on their periods to expel an unusually high amount of water in the form of blood, during menstruation, and via urine, due to the fact your metabolism will kick up a little bit during this time, and you’ll pee more, and more often. This could certainly throw your weight off seven pounds. It is a lot of water weight to use, but not unheard of, so I wouldn’t start getting worried just yet. Wait until your period is over, and see if you gain a few pounds back. If not, and if you continue to lose thereafter, don’t hesitate to go see your doctor, school nurse, or both. It could signal a metabolic or thyroid disorder. Best of luck, and don’t sweat it…

Well, it’s typical to have weight gain just before and during your period, then you lose it by the end of your period. I think it’s mostly water weight gain, and I’m not sure why this is! You may notice that your clothes are a little tighter during this time.
I hope this helps!

Well you have to weigh yourself at the same time every day to be able to see if you’ve had any weight loss/gain. Also, your period can be effected by weigh loss and gain. Usually is gets heavier with weight gain and lighter with loss. It’s possible you lost a few pounds, wich is ok, but I would try weighing yourself at the same time each day ( like first thing in the morning)

First of all, some people just have their periods for long periods of time. Second of all, it’s fine. All scale’s are a pound or two different. Especially from doctor’s offices to home scales!

yeah sort of.. it is probably just the “flow” ( blood) or water weight .. dont worry too much.. if it bothers u .. try to gain 5 lbs back or make sure u dont lose anymore if u chose to make it an issue or not is up to you.. and if ur doc didnt say anything chances are you are fine.. hope everythings okay!!

Don’t freak! it’s just a coincidence. i am 12 and 5 feet and i’ve had my period since August of this year. In October i moved in with my mom [who divorced my dad when i was little] and i had previosly lived with my dad. Now that i live with my mom since october until now i have lost 9 pounds in 5 weeks. Anyways my point is since my lifestyle changed i changed to suit my more active lifestyle. Now i don’t know u but i bet u have changed the way u eat or how active u r lately.[even a big house clean out over the course of a few days could do it]

Your weight can fluctuate 5 lbs from morning to afternoon depending on water retention and without even being on your period. Yes, it is common to become bloated and gain weight prior to you menses so this is not uncommon.
