Hi,
i am very sorry for your lost. I truely undertand what your going through, been there twice.
I have been TTC for 6 yrs and have PCOS and am on metformin(Glucophage) all along. Been on several cycle’s of clomid, it does have side effects…hot flashes, headache’s, depression, bloatedness, fatigue..and the list goes on…. To me i feel that Metformin hasn;t helped one bit loosing any weight whatsoever. I have manage to maintain the same weight all along, i dont eat much, i dont munch between meals, tried weight watchers. Good luck to you all TTC. Lots of baby dust.

i am taking clomid without metformin. i gained weight and am too not happy about it.
sorry to hear abt ur miscarriage.
get ur insulin levels checked out. if it is high then ur doc may ask u to take clomid. i can reduce weight as well. decrease ur sugar intake as well.

You know the right answer. Ask your doctor. If you are trying to loose weight and get pregnant then you need to see a professional. Please, what ever you do don’t give up hope.

sorry to hear about your m/c I too have had 2 m/c I use metformin 1500mg and it can be taken with clomid and is better for those like myself with pcos. Metformin will help you ovulate make sure you take 500 mg 1 pill a day for 1 week then 2 pills a day the 2nd week and 3rd week 3 pills cause you will get diarrhea if you do not I have had no side effects. I also take 100mg clomid this month only hot flashes for a few days and a little bit of cramps here and there you can have ovarian hyperstimulation but that happens in less than 5% of women and maybe even more rare you take the clomid at night and it lessens the side effects good luck!

i took the pill called yasmin straight for a year and it caused my ovaries to shut down and me to gain 30 lbs i then refused to take it after a year and now still to this day refuse to take hormone bc of any kind
for a year after stopping the pill i had not had more than 3 periods because of my pcos and my ovaries shutting down and was ttc and one day my doc suggested metformin after ten doses and one mensturation i was pregnant in april of 2007 one year after i quit bc and now have a beautiful 16 month old son
i then used an iud called copper which contains no hormones till about november and at that time started metformin again for weightloss but ended up conceiving again in december altho i lost ten pounds between november and the end of jan so i beleive it really does help with weight loss
i have no experience taking both because i refuse to take pills and gain weight so i rely on not ovulating which i don’t lol and pulling out and so far i have had to take the metformin to get preg
